Do I need a credit card to start the trial?
No. Sign up with just your email and you get full access for 14 days. We'll only ask for payment details if you decide to keep using EquipTrail after that.
What happens after my trial ends?
Your account stays intact — you just can't add new data or run reports until you subscribe. Your existing data is never deleted. Subscribe at any time to pick up where you left off.
What's the difference between a 'user' and a 'person'?
A 'user' is anyone who signs in to EquipTrail — typically your admin and a few site supervisors who hand out and manage equipment. A 'person' is anyone in your system who can have equipment allocated to them — crew, contractors, drivers, etc. People are unlimited on every plan. Only login users count toward your plan limit.
Can I import my existing equipment list?
Yes. Download our XLSX template, fill in your equipment, and upload. Categories and equipment types are created automatically, so a single upload can bring in your whole catalogue.
Is my data isolated from other customers?
Absolutely. Every query is scoped by company at the database level. There's no way one customer's data can be visible to another — we treat this as a non-negotiable.
How do payments work?
We use PayFast — a South African payment provider — for monthly debit orders. No forex, no international card fees.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your billing page and you won't be charged again. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
Can I export my data if I leave?
Yes. All reports can be exported to PDF or Excel before or after cancellation. Just email us if you need a full data export.
